As may you know, there was a ransomware attack worldwide 2 weeks ago especially organisations and hospitals across the UK and Europe. Luckily, my work didn't affected with it but it backs up the data every night and had a good antivirus software that detects any threats. At home is different.
To protect your PC from this happening here's the tips:
1, Back up your data and documents daily just in case when your PC gets crashed or affect by any type of virus like malware attack.
2. Install antivirus software and update it daily.
3. Always make sure the Firewall is switched on. This is standard on Windows and Apple computers.
4. Make sure your computer is regularly updated with the latest updates. If you are using Windows, make sure that updates are on and regularly installed. Microsoft sends them out at least once per month. If you are still using Windows XP, upgrade to Windows 7 or Windows 10 ASAP. Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft and no more security updates are being issued.
5. If you are receiving any email messages from any of suspicious actively, do not reply and delete it straight away!
