Nicola Roberts third single "Yo-Yo"

Postby schizophonic_spice » 30 Sep 2011, 20:15

Yo-Yo is offically the third single

Nicola Roberts confirms new 'Cinderella's Eyes' single 'Yo-Yo'

Nicola Roberts has confirmed the name of her new solo single.

The Girls Aloud star will release 'Yo-Yo' as the third cut to be lifted from her new album Cinderella's Eyes.

The singer revealed the news during an interview with Steve Timmins on Liverpool's Juice FM.

Roberts said that 'Yo-Yo' was one of her favourite tracks from her debut album when reminiscing about a recent performance where she played an acoustic version of the track.

The 25-year-old recently said that she did not make her new album for "commercial reasons", but because she loves "making music".

Nicola Roberts's debut album Cinderella's Eyes is available to buy now.

MUCH better choice than her last two but why not Gladiator? its soooo the best track on CI

Guess this will be the first GA related single to miss the Top 40. It's not different enough from the last single.

Good choice, though I would've preferred if she had picked "Gladiator" instead though.

Sigh.. This maybe her last chance releasing a single from the album. Too bad she is not releasing "Gladiator". That song screams "single".!!

I think it's a good single choice. Yo-Yo, Cinderella's Eyes and Gladiator are the obvious single contenders. And yes, unless all of a sudden the single is a hit and pushes the album I guess it will be the last single. By the time she releases it Cheryl might be back again with all the eyes and press on her and whatever Nicola releases will sadly pass even more unnoticed than now.

^^you're right.

Yo-Yo is very radio friendly and the lyrics are just so cool and catchy, this may help her a little. Even though I really don't think ANYTHING will help her enough to make this album a real success in the UK, unfortunately.

I just don't think Yo-Yo is much different to Lucky Day, and look where that got her...

I personally love the middle 8 of Yo-Yo, but that alone is enough not to be radio friendly.

Hmm, I LOVE the song, but I´m not sure how it will do..
In all honesty, I am a bit shocked by how poor the reception has been to everything she has released.
Yes, the critics love it, but people aren´t buying :(

I hope she´ll get a sudden big boost!!!

She should get Dappy on Yo-yo to do a rap! Could boost interest in the song, and more people would buy it..
THEN comes the re-release of the album with a DVD of the videos + Through Nicholas eyes, Lucky Day Dancer and maybe a couple of remixes...

Bad choice. And after hearing the rest of Cinderellas Eyes, why the hell did she release Lucky Day as a single :S

Gladiator and Sticks & Stones would've been good singles

Label probably thought after how Beat Of My Drum did, that the relatively safe Lucky Day might do the trick - funnily enough doing worse!

Amazed this is actually going ahead.

Image

Nicola Roberts will be releasing 'Yo-Yo' as the third solo single from her critically acclaimed debut solo album; Cinderella's Eyes.

Due for release on 2nd January 2012, the song was written by Dimitri Tikovoi and Nicola, who says "the song is about being in that position with a guy when you really don't know whether you're coming or going. Being in that position can make you really vulnerable. It's the dark, desperate and doubtful side of love."

The CD single will come with both a studio and live version of the track as well as the demo version of her original album track, sticks + stones.

So it would seem the CD track list will be:

1. Yo-Yo
2. Yo-Yo (Live Version)
3. Sticks + Stones (Demo Version)

No B Side? Pfft.
