Eurovision 2007

Postby Flutey » 19 Mar 2007, 03:01

Almost Here!!!!! (2 months to go, but who's counting?)

I'm downloading the songs to make up my mind in advance and let me tell you till now I'm not impressed...

Moldova: What a strong song, powerful! I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Albania: Boring! Why oh why?

Malta: I like the song, but I think it's not Eurovision material... Love the ethnic motif!

Romania: *cries* *speechless* *hangs himself* Romania is one of my favourites for a few years now... What kind of song is this one? Why? Why do you wanna make me suffer like that? :pukes:

Israel: A funny song... but that's all... Are they trying to pull out a "Lordi" act?

Greece: I like it :D Very poppy, very danceable, very nice! Are you gonna win it again?

Croatia: I like it  Nothing special, but I like it

France: So retro, I love it... The french accent is the cutest thing ever! Might have my vote!

Ireland: The flute *draw jopping* Celtic music can never go wrong!

Macedonia: I like the rythm... Again, the ethnic is really cool

Turkey: I don't like his voice... The song is a bit dull

Poland: I think it must be a grower... But for now, not getting my vote

Serbia: I'm not a big fan of ballads for eurovision... Boring

Cyprus: The beggining reminds me of Alive - Kate Ryan! LOL But I don't like the song... The beats are way too strong, me thinks

*the others are still being downloaded*

Share your oppinions and your news ;)

And I won't say much about the songs and I'm trying not to listen to much of them, because I'm an official jury this year again and I only want to make up my mind once I'm there in the day of the back up jury votes.

i listened to a few but i don't wanna listen to them all cause every year i like a few and then on the night of the show, when they sing LIVE, they ruin everything :( damn it, if u can't sing the song live and make it sound at least the same if not better than the recorded version, why even go ?

i think Bielorusia will rank quite high, he's the Dima Bilan of this year. Switzerland is a joke but i guess DJ Bobo's fans will vote. when i'll give in an listen to the others i'll tell you more :)

Marco, Romania's entry is fun, did u want a masterpiece? :) here's what was in the semifinal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrIdZINRhHs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BWAYNcTNDY
if anything good is happening in the SG or solo-SG forum, someone please PM me :p thx

I think it's safe to say UK won't be winning this year.

Here are my first impressions of the rest of the songs:

Denmark: So DD... Drama Queen! Good beat, good lyrics, good voice!

UK: Sounds like a bad VengaBoys song... Cheeky... Sad...

Andorra: Last two years I never liked the song, but end up with it on my mp3 player, singing along... This one is nice, very rock-ish... Too much for Eurovision, probably!

Armenia: Another ballad... A bad one, in my opinion.

Austria: After the fiasco last year (what was that with the tuba and the yoddle????), then send something nice. Not a huge song, but comparing to the overall candidates, is not bad at all.

Belgium: I was wondering why Carl was singing Booggie Wonderland... Now I know... Looks like they've mixed the 70's and George Michael... Terrible. Not a good choice at all!

Bosnia & Herzegovina: Very similar to last year's entry... They got a good position last year, they might have a good one this year... I love her voice!

Bulgaria: I see this one being a HUGE club hit! I bet it will have a nice video!

Estonia: Again, a good song coming from this country. Shame no one really notices it

Iceland: Where's my Silvia Knight??? Buáááááááá............. Not bad, I don't even have a clear opinion about this one... I'll simply ignore it! :$

Latvia: Boring!!!!! Why singing in Italian? Italy is not even participating!!!!

Lithuania: I can see this one being played on my summer afternoons! Nice song.

Montenegro: Another grower? It's ok, nothing special.

Netherlands: I have the dutch version (wonder if they're gonna translate it...). Nodit Meer Zonder Jou has potential... But not to win Eurovision.

Norway: Very latin sound... Not bad at all! Very danceable! Wouldn't think something like this would come out of NORWAY! I like it!

Slovenia: I think the soprano ruins the song... Bad choice, my friends...

Spain: OLÉ!!!!! I'm sure this will be a huge hit in Spain and Portugal! Perfect for nights out! Might have my vote too!

Switzerland: A good dance tune, not for Eurovision! Would easly dance for it, I doubt I'll vote for it!

Belarus: Like Raluca said, the Dima Bilan of this year... Might be in my Top ;)

Georgia: Very ethnic... I love when they mix ethnic with new influences, like pop and electronics... Shame this one is only ethnic :(

Czech Republic: What the hell is this? Is eurovision turning into hard rock?

Hungary: Great voice, great song... It hardly tops Nox - Forog Vilag, but a very nice tune!

Portugal: What can I say? Sorry Eurovision... I wasn't even in the country to vote... We had much much better songs competing, but I guess some people can't resist her golden dress :puke:. If we get the last place this year, I won't be surprised at all!

Sweden: Not bad at all! Me likes! If Ivanhoe is to see the Eurovision at my place, I'm sure we'll vote for this one ;)

Ukraine: Another joke? Bad song, just a filler, really...

Germany: Not bad... After reading Steffi's comment, I was expecting something really bad... I kind of like his voice and the melody :)

Russia: I don't like it... At all... The melody is boring and the voices are annoying

Finland: What a great voice! Love the contrast between the sweet voice and the heavy melody! Very Evanescense-ish! Might get a good position this year

A funny fact: Portugal is the only Western Country to never win Eurovision... And I think we're trying very hard to keep it that way!

Marija Sestic, this year's participant for Bosnia & Herzegovina, will sing Rijeka Bez Imena at the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki.

The song, composed by young composers Aleksandra Milutinovic and Goran Kovacic, has been presented Sunday night in a special prime time television show from the National Theatre in Sarajevo.

Marija is studying piano at the famous Music Academy in Banja Luka. She took part in the Bosnian national selection in 2005, when she came 4th with In This World. Marija's father Dusan is the author of the official national anthem of Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Bosnia & Herzegovina achieved their biggest success - a third place - at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Lejla. This means Bosnia & Herzegovina are automatically qualified for the final of the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, on 12th May in Helsinki, Finland.

Official link for the song in Bosnian and this song will be interpeted in this language - http://www.bhrt.ba/bheurosong07/v03/dokumenti/Marija%20Sestic%20-%20Rijeka%20bez%20imena.mp3
