Nicki STOLE the VMA performance. She's come on so much since the Starship promo.

And I wish people would stop trying to make Arianan Grande happen. She has zero pop star charisma.

I cannot understand a word Ariana Grande Frappacino says when she's "singing"/shouting.

Nice (but predictable) video. Shows you can do something decent with a low budget.

The song's a banger, though. I love it.

I like the video, and the song is goo too!!!
what I don't understand is the ratio of the videos nowadays!!!
we spend so much money to get a big screen tv and then they chop the top and the bottom of a music video.... hmmmpf. what's the point??

I hope Masterpiece is the next single I much prefer it to Burnin Up. It reminds me of her singles from the first album which was my fave era.

Loving her new album Sweet Talker I think it has the potential of Who You Are with the right singles.

Masterpiece, Fire & Said Too Much would be the best choices imo

I think it's a good solid album. Not better than 'Who You Are' but absolutely better than 'Alive'.

But I have to say I didn't find that many songs that could work as singles. The 2 most commercial ones are 'Bang Bang' and 'Burning Up'. 'Masterpiece' definitely screams to be the next single. Then you have 'Ain't Been Done' with super radio friendly chorus but not-so-attractive verses but I guess it could work, it has her trademark sound. And maybe 'Seal Me With A Kiss' or 'Said Too Much'.

I guess it's a matter of picking the right songs and going for 'Masterpiece' and 'Ain't Been Done' next.

I just got the album, and I love it, but all the songs sound the same. No idea which one should be the next single.

Sweet Talker debuts at #5

Another top 5 album but her first to miss the top 3 (as off right now anyway)

I hope it sticks around but the deluxe is already out the iTunes top 10.

Her album sales for her first two albums, quite a contrast:

Who You Are - 1,257,049
Alive - 184,828

First week sales:

Who You Are - 105,859
Alive - 39,270
Sweet Talker - 16,773

A bit of a worrying decline for the first week sales, 'Sweet Talker' will have its work cut out to match the sales of 'Alive'.

Her position is rather odd. I don't understand why she's getting so much backing? Her second album underperformed, and her label has obviously tried to turn that around with this release, but yet it looks like this one will sell even less. And all that US promo probably didn't come cheap.

Is she even big in the US?

^ 'Bang Bang' is a big hit in the US, but her album sales are looking set to be 20-25k. It seems that could give her a low Top 10 entry? You're right though, for all the effort/promotion/money they're putting into making her happen, her albums just aren't selling as well as they should be.

it would help somewhat if she was even moderately likeable and that she had decent tunes x
